    Lidl Online

spotted these deals in the paper yesterday so just had a look up.

The headlamps (9led) seemed a bargain but alas my local shop didnt have any in.

I did however get me a canny back up telescopic spinning outfit. Its aimed at pike/zander but should be ideal for mackerel and for the pollac on the mull trip. Also handy to have in the car for hols etc.

Got a 9ft rod, fixed spool loaded with line, a spare spool, pair of pliers and a box loaded with bits including swivels and about 7-8 lues (spinners,a shad and a couple of jelly worms with leadheads.

    The price £14.99.

Not exactly up to full quality standards of the good manufacturuers but its ok and will do a job. For that price if ig goes wrong it can go in the bin!

I picked up a few bits from there last year Ian. The rods are quite canny actually, I tried mine out on Blyth pier for the Mackerel and they were ok for the price. As you say, for those prices you can't go wrong though.

Both Wilkinsons and Yorkshire Trading sell LED lamps, got mine from Wilkinsons and it's canny, think it was only £3.99.

Edit - just looked at the pic of the one at Lidl, it's identical to the ones from Wilkinsons.

I dont really need one lol, im just so tight i thought they would be a bargain.

I dont fill up at morrisons as all of the petrol stations in consett are robbing barstewards.

The garage at the south end of the redheugh bridge is always about 20p a gallon cheaper. And considering i drive past it on my way to work i would be mad not to save two quid every time i fill up.

I went into Lidl today and bought a telescopic rod/fishing set for my son.
The reel is not bad at all. The kit cost £9.99. I also bought 50 chemical lights for a few quid.(and a packet of choccy biscs).
Thanks for the info Ian it will do for the resevoir or for the macky in the summer.

Bought one of the headlamps today. For £2.99 you can't go wrong. Note they take 3 batteries which aint supplied. They got 3 settings. Setting 1 is 3 white leds lit. Setting 2 is all 7 white leds lit. Setting 3 is 2 red flashing leds. What you would want to use setting 3 for I havn't a clue. Plenty enough light from the lamp without luring passing ships onto the rocks.

Flashing light is for distress. If you fall ill or fall in the water it's one of the only things which will attract people to you in the dark.

That'd be handy for wading to and from breakwaters wouldn't it Darren?
