  • New to Shore fishing

    Hi all,

I am new to shore fishing, but have done some game fishing on derwent. I am going on holiday to Ireland in a few weeks, (Wexford) and want to spend some time in the evening and earling morning shore fishing. I have read up a bit on this and I am thinking of spinning across the surf or using a lure to try and catch bass, is this a good idea?
I want to practice a bit before i go, but have a limited knowledge of where to go and the tackle to use.
If anyone knows of any tackle/bait shops where I could go in and say "I have never done this before and need some help" and can be sure they wont take the p**s or try and rip me off.
I also want to try some fishing in the harbour or off the pier (wife permitting) and need as much help as possible on how to do this. I did do some pier fishing as a child and all I remember is my brother catching loads and me getting nothing.

Thanks for any help you give
