Anyone got any tips for fishing eyemouth pier/harbour? I am off up to the wifes mums next week so as well as fishing the caravans, cannons and golf course on my own, someone on here mentioned dropping a line into the harbour so I would be able to take my son - has anyone tried this?

Also is the parking at the harbour free? the caravan park and the cannons are only a few minutes walk from her mums, but when I try the golf course I am too lazy to walk over

parking is free at the harbour and you can fish practically out of the car plus you'll have the contented sole right behind you if yer fancy a refresher
I would imagine it'll just be small stuff like flounders and coalies and as said small hooks should do the trick with worm or fish baits.
I wouldn't take a kid on the pier like as there are no railings and it's a canny drop. High water I reckons mate

Never fished it for years but the south side used to be the best as the trawler moor on the north side, we used to fish the inner part you can also fish the south pier. Crab baits with size 2 for flatties and 1/0 for coalies the bigger coalies used to show last couple of hours before high

Cheers fella, looks like we are heading up for a couple of days now - so should have plenty time to fish! I am hoping to get some time to walk around and cast a few lures out as well at some point while I am up there!

I was thinking of parking up at the fish factory on the south side (I think thats what the wifes mums said it was) and more or less fishing from the back of the car.

Small coalie eels and flatties in the harbour mate. Never seen anything of size but plenty to keep the kids entertained!

He normally does - he's only 7 and hasnt quite got the hang of casting, last year we were out fishing for rainbow trout I set his rod up, he fluffed his cast and it only went about 5 foot in the water - what happens as he is reeling back in - the line went mental and he caught! bah. he ended up with 5 that day and I got 1!!!!
