Alright lads, just a quick one and I know its my own fault for not checking 100% but..... I swapped a slosh 20 off a guy on here a few month ago for a TFgear fixed spool I never really used and thought I got a good deal, the slosh was as expected a little beat up but still spun sound and silently. Was fishing the river yest when I got snagged up so gave it a standard yank with the rod when the reel feet snapped off! Upon close inspection its clear to see the feet had been broken before and just glued back on. Now my point is its my own fault for not going over the reel when the deal was done but id still expect the seller/swapper to inform me of any repairs that had been done. Watch out lads, theres bad people out there!

P.s Check the wanted section for a spare cage or clamp needed.

Dave its not your fault mate its the ******* who fobbed you off. I bought some waders off e-bay which looked perfect but when I put them on in deep water the rubber around the crotch area had worn out through wear. You could,nt see it with the naked eye but they were knackered. Tried everything to waterproof them but no good and I ended up 40 quid worse off. And to late to change feedback as I had left positive on e bay. Still annoyed and it was couple years ago.

ps you might be able to buy a cage for the reel off e-bay I fixed my abu 6500 myself when I knacked main spindle. Bet you can look on you tube how to change the cage.

Thanks for the replies lads. I would name and shame but I cant remember the guys username, I know he lives in castletown some near cranleigh rd. Im gonna check ebay or ring diawa parts, thanks Mick. Still, we live and learn eh!

bad crack mate but all is not lost, you can get a clamp that get's screwed to the bracket (note the 2 screw holes), looks like there's enough bracket left for it to be stable. This is actually the best way IMO to fix a sl reel, keeps it close to the blank. I would imagine the plastic clamp plus screws would cost peanuts from daiwa or you could be lucky and someone might offer them up as a freebe as there not used much and come as standard with the reels.

Alright lads. The member involved has been in touch and said he had only had the reel a short time and hadn't used it or realized it had been broken and repaired when he swapped it. He has also offered to swap back as he would never try and part with dodgy goods, a fair and honest offer on his part in my opinion. I'm gonna keep the reel and try and use it with a clamp another generous member has offered. Thanks for all the replies and thanks to the member who has offered me a spare clamp he has and also thanks to the original member for getting in touch with his explanation.
