Personally don't think an SU is suitable for braid, far too powerful and unforgiving. You need something to cushion the non stretch properties of braid and to prevent hooks being pulled.

Ive had Su txl etc and wouldn't dream of using them for braid they would be awful. Think softer rods for braid and stiffer for mono.

Leeda are bringing out a new set of rods soon - the FS Sport Continental - three rods in the range, all rated 3.5-6.5oz, at 14, 15, or 16ft.
I think I'll be making a new purchase when they hit the shops.
Ron Thompson Axellerator 13’ - Penn Spinfisher 7500
Daiwa Seahunter Z Spin 10’ - Penn Battle II 4000
Savage Gear Bushwhacker 8’ - Shimano Ultegra 2500
