  • Roker pier monday?

    Hi guys
I was planning on coming over on monday to fish the hi tide from roker pier. Having seen the weather forecast im now abit dubious as to wether i will be able to fish the pier as some of the forecasters are saying there will be strong winds/storms. As im unfamiliar with the pier and havent fished it before does anybody have any idea wether it is likely to be fishable or not (and if it is fishable will it be safe as i will have my young son with me)

also if i cant get on the pier, can anybody suggest anywhere else where it would be worth a try.

    thanx chris

I havent fished roker pier before, so cant really comment on whether it would be unfishable or not, but from what ive seen, supposed to be 30mphish SE so i would expect the sea to pick up quite a bit.

best chance is to wait nearer the time mate(i.e sunday)..as gb wind map says 32mph east/south easterly..however magicseaweed says 18mph south/westerly

yep mate piers normally open on a SE wind but i would imagine if its 30mph SE they will shut the pier. But in the past they have shut it if its been 30mph southerlies etc. So best thing to do is seen forecast on sunday for Monday as the wind forecasts change all the time, if it SE 30mph + i would imagine the pier to be shut as the sea would be pretty big. Hope this information helps you a bit more mate.
