Have got a number of Conoflex and Century rods, the Anubis Plus is an excellent rod as already stated. All rods will snap if they are misused or damaged especially with composite wrap build. I would not compare a Conoflex Anubis to a Greys mk2 Apollo, they are not in the same build league. I know people who have snapped Zipplex rods, they blame themselves rather than the rods knowing fine well that at some time the rod may have been damaged falling out of a rod rest etc. If you clean your rod carefully after each trip you will spot any possible rod damage. Remember you are casting 6ozs of lead from zero to 70mph + in a matter of seconds ! Dont be so quick to blame the rod !

personal reveiw: had my "anubis 6oz std." now for 2 mths, i have really put it through its paces and think its a very good rod indeed. i have used it a lot both on the grass field and out fishing. its very good to cast with, bit hard to get used to with pendullum casts but thats proberbly just me as i rarely use that style and iam used to softer tip rods, well "over the head thumb","o.t.g." "swinging brighton" can achieve good distances with it anyway! it has great bite detection even with small fish, flatties, rocklings etc. which surprized me concidering its a stiff rod. i have used it on sandy beaches and on rough ground and its a pleasure to use in both situation.
simply love it..

having fished all over the north east and a lot of rock marks , many a time at eyemouth fair few places on the west coast probably spoken to and seen thousands of anglers fish over the years and only ever seen 4rods snap, one was over 5year old (century ) another smashed of pier wall (raptor ), the third one was one of mine 3 year old which was used and abused (apollo m1 ) and the fourth one a orion which was brand new an
saw no apparrent reason it breaking, but only heard of loads other rods snapping so a wonder is it down to user error and the rod gets the blame so the the owner dont' lose out on their guarantee
