  • General rod question

I have 2 rods that dont seem to fit together all of the way, is this sometimes usual or am I just being soft and not using enought force to push the sections together (im afraid if I do I'll never get them apart again).

the spigots on modern rods are a resistance fit, so there is a piece of "unfinished" rod always on show. This is perfectly normal so resist the temptation to sand it down to get a better fit. You'll weaken the rod & potentially cause it to snap mid cast or pulling through a snag etc.

You aint weak! Rods are made so that there is a gap in the two sections, they do this to allow for wear, imagine if there was no gap, the sections would just seperate.
