I want to do more shore fishing and I want I catch as many species as possible so I thought Scotland was probably a good place to go. I know its a big place but I'd appreciate any advise on a few places that novice anglers can get a few fish.

Does anyone fish Kircudbright? I've been up there hunting and it looked ok plus it's close to the north east.

Anywhere that there's a chance of wrasse and doggies would do for now. Also where is the closest mark to us to try for a conger.

    Thanks.

Other marks that produce what youre looking for would be whithorn, The isle of whithorn, The mull of galloway and some of the sal****er lochs...I have heard that the old submarine base at loch long/holy loch are good for conger at the pens then you can go as far at loch etive which will throw up a few good species but its a good 5 hr drive..few of us are heading there in the summer

        Thanks lads,
I've been to Whithorn when I was a kid, my Dad and Uncle used to fish there. I didn't fish then but they had Ballans, pollack and conger from the campsite and other spots plus tope on the boat. I plan to go up there this year but probably later I'd like to try somewhere a bit closer in the next few weeks.

I only have until September because my hunting in the winter takes up most of my time.
