  • Balcary Point?

Never heard much about Balcary point lately, was just wondering if it still produces fish or is it fished out? I know years ago it was classed as "the" place to catch big fish.

suppose its like most places and does fish in the right conditions but forget about days of old going there pulling doublers out every session haha
went a couple of years ago on a dying sea and had a couple out 3 and 4 pound and a couple of decent flounder on a pennel
definately worth a shot on a dying sea but careful of the walk down to flat rock it a bit dangerous these days

A place from yester-year, still produces cod but not the monsters that made it famous. Much better places on our coast line IMO.

it's a couple of years since i was over, and even then we blanked. my mate joe was there a few weeks back but diddn't get anything. Colvend is the better shot , but you need the right conditions.

you have a better chance of getting a good thornback than a good cod from balcary now, colvend and rascarell are the best bets now, not so much for a big fish, but fish.

Keegy, wheres best to park to fish Colvend? Do you take a left near the shop and drive down a really rickety mudpath and park next to the farm? Ive tried to find the mark loads of times but never been sure on how to get there. Im off over there in a few weks and wouldnt mind giving it a bash.

                Cheers.
