  • Mackeral

    Hi All,

I was down Roker 11:00am Saturday and saw 2 young lads walking off the Pier with a carrier bag full of Mackeral. Didn\'t get the chance to speak with them as I had our lass twisting on at me down the phone at the time.

Is the mackeral consistent off Roker or any other local pier yet?

    Thanks,
    Jeff.

If your after boat bait jeff, don`t worry about it, the wrecks are littered after about 2 mile out, have to choose your rigs to get through them (LOL even catchin mackerel on RoyD`s)

tich you often get them on hook and sinker early in the season, dunno why maybe they feed deeper early on or there is\'nt any sprats and sand eels to feed on,possibly they attack a bare hook (silver) if the baits been stripped by crabs.
        Cheers Alan...

            Hi Norman,

Not wanting the Mackeral for the wrecks....just like going spinning after work in the summer. Helps me relax and makes a change from going to the gym every night!! I just cannot sit in front of the TV like my good lady, (especially with Big Brother being on!!).

            Jeff.
