I would just like to thank the boat owner who re-arranged the back end of my C5 estate on Monday morning. [Bank holiday] around 10a.m. I must admit the large dent and crease in the tailgate certainly makes my motor unique. I would like to know how he (she?) missed the empty boat trailer that was attached to it? A note of apology would not have gone amiss. That is just too much to ask of the friendly, helpful, boat owning society. The divers that enquired about launching their rib that usually dive Anglesey must have seen something as it happened within 15 minutes of me launching.

    Thats life!

Unlucky that Braine! People like that have no conscience and will at some point reap what they sow.

Hello Braine. Tats got a point there mate. Were there any CCTV cameras situated on the buildings nearby ? you never know, there might be something on record and if you go and explain to the Security staff who are monitoring the cams, you may have something to go off. Worth a try I would have thought.

If there were cctv cameras your the operator of the cameras is legally obliged to give you copies of the tapes if you request them under the dat protection act. they can charge a nominal fee for this, but if they have footage and you are on it they have to let you see it

Some people are like slinkies - not really good for anything but bring a smile to your face when thrown down the stairs

What Mark said is right. However, they are not obliged to let you see the footage when you wern\'t there i.e., when the incident occurred!

My advice would be to refer it to the police. Someone may have reported having seen it, and if there is any CCTV they will also have the right to access it.

I hope you find out who it is and can get recompense through their Insurance, alternatively you may find it more gratifying to grab them by the throat and KTLSOOT

When I used to live on the coast at Whitburn, there was a knock on the front door one Saturday afternoon and it turned out to be a couple of holidaymakers who had been driving past my house and noticed a blue car clip the side of my car. They said that the car was being driven all over the place and it looked as though the driver was either high on drink or drugs. I looked at my car and the rear bumper was bent to hell on one side and there was a scrape running all along the side of the car from back to front. The holidaymakers had managed to get the registration number of the car which caused the damage and I rang the Police who came to my house within 30 minutes. The Police took paint samples from the scrape on my car and said they would look into the incident. I thought that that was the last that I would hear about it but the Poice turned up the next morning and told me that they had traced the car and that the driver was just geeting ready to spray the side of his car with a can of spray paint to disguise the damage. He admitted that he had caused the damage to my car and was charged with the offence. I ended up getting a couple of hundred quid compensation from him so it might be a good idea to inform the Police about your incident mate. You never know what might come of it.

              Cheers.
