i would have to say yes it is good for fishing
there have been plenty of fish weighed in in the cleadon club from there this year
a few around the 5 and 6 mark and one very good one nearly 13 lb
holmes gut is a good shot
down the stone steps then turn left on to the beach about 30 yards along
    then there is the pinnacle
which is to the right of the steps
    then you can fish
next to marsden rock its self
then you can go further along in to the bays
its not too bad for loosing gear

but watch out for the marsden ghost
    hahaha

Marsden fishes in roughish weather m8. If you fish homesys on the flood, when the sea finallly comes over the reef it washes you up the shore! Scary when the ghost is there. What ghost is this??

Had a look on google earth and bay 1 at low water ie. to the right of the rock looks well deep.

Never fished Marsden beach but heard all the way along that area sea being massive or just after throws plenty of good fish mostly every winter. Also seen something in one of the magazines saying you get wrasse, Mackeral, pollack and even cod(red and fresh run) in the summer. Would love to have a go in the summer to see what Marsden area has to offer.

I went down to Marsden with the family last summer. Straight away thought this looks a canny spot. Noticed beach was large pebbles and the island where the bird sanctuary was,was not to far away. Canny walk down the steps if the lifts not working.
Never fished there before must give it a go. (same as Craster).

The pub is currently shut, meaning the lift isnt working, the pub is shut though because the steps are deemed as unsafe and are being repaired so it means and extra long walk along from the stone steps end! I would park on the coast road just north of the ice cream hut and walk back south towards the hut, saves on parking fees.

                    mickyo
its just to the north of north row ends
do you know where that is
seemingly you can catch some canny fish from north row aswell
but youve got to be good
                    hahahahaha
