  • M4 evo reel seat?

The above rod which I have owned for a couple of months reel seat is bugging me! The previous owner has wrapped the butt of the rod with something to make the diamiter thicker so the reel seat fits.
This was fine to start with but it's starting to move a bit and it's going to get worse.
I want to find a better solution. Can anyone help?
Also I want a better bag than the il fitting century one I got with the rod. Is it possible to get a Zziplex hard carry case for the M4?
    Thanks in advance

Butt diameter on the M4 Evo is 23.5mm, ~ 24mm with the shrink tube. I've got a 24 mm Fuji DPS on mine which I've cut a couple of grooves into and added a coaster to make it a moveable seat (look at a Century reel seat to see how to do this).

It was a bit of a mission to get on as the bottom of the butt is slightly bigger diameter but now it is on it is absolutely solid (though moveable if the coaster is undone)
    CLIP IT AND WHACK IT

Thanks for the reply. I have looked at the Century reel seats and see what you mean. Would it be possible to buy one of those instead of making one from a Fuji or is that not as good?

The quality of the century reel seats are shockingly bad compared to the fuji ones..

Very good seats but by the time you've paid the VAT and the postage they cost the best part of £20.

A 24mm DPS costs about £9 plus £3.50 for a pair of coasters and it takes all of 5 minutes to cut the grooves necessary to make one yourself.

In fact the hardest thing was fitting the 24mm seat in the first place as it is a very snug fit; problem is unless you bulk the blank up with tape or extra shrink tube a 26mm is a very sloppy fit

Afaw reel seat from andy Rutherfords the 24mm slightly bigger than the Fuji 24mm. I've used then on Harrison p3s, tourney matches and m4 evos. They have a cut in the top, so put a little tape underneath and at the top of the seat and they grip with pressure from the reel foot when the reel is locked down or Just use a junior hacksaw blade extend the pre cut slot to the back of the reel seat and slide a coaster on.
