did anyone read the sunderland echo last night. there was a story in it about a lad who was fishing the ratty on new years eve. he was using an appollo and a slosh 30, he turned his back when a dredger was going out and it caught his line and pulled the lot in. he must have been devastated. he said he watched it getting towed along the river mouth. He had given up on it when, i think the echo got a call from a lad who was fishing the ratty and pulled in an appollo and a slosh 30. they got in contact with the lad and he was reunited with his gear. He offered the lad a reward but he didnt want nowt he said donate it to the rnli. just goes to show there are some gentleman still out there..
