  • Anyone fished Kirkcudbright??

Alright lads, has anyone fished around the area of Kirkcudbright that is south of Dumfries? Im over there working for a couple of weeks soon and was wondering what its like. Ive worked over there a few times and there are plenty of rocky out crops etc so it looks promising!

Some good fishing over there still a bit early.
Fox snout is one of the more popular marks but on the day there's just as good spots not as heavily fished
    Head for Ross
    Near borgue

Have a look on google earth type in Ross or brighouse bay & you'll see some outcrops it'll give u an idea of where to head to
Then it's a case of take your pick as long as the mark is accessible give it a go

Do you think its worth throwing a lure out or a bait? Im on the shooting ranges for a couple of weeks so might be able to try some untapped marks

Might pick a few dog fish up. Every rock can be fished some more productive than others. Flat rock all the way round the golf course is a good shout although it still might be early. Worth a shot though

I doubt if they will let you fish on the ranges during the week. They may let you fish on a Sunday.
