        From Shileds pier, May the 24th is the soonest i have caught them and Oct the 11th was the latest. They tend to hit Roker pier about a week before they hit Shields, if we get a run of settled weather then they will be in May if not and we get lots of rain and NE seas i have known them not turn up until late July.
