When it comes to picking a club, I'd always suggest to people that you choose one that fishes the areas that you like to fish - club boundaries vary greatly. The two clubs I fish with - Whitley Bay & South Beach fish fairly tight boundaries, which I personally like. In the case of Whitley, it's the Ice House at North Shields to Blyth (Peeping Tom rocks) in the north. South Beach, it's the Ice House to Church Point at Newbiggin (Cresswell Carrs for the sunday matches).

Other clubs fish as far north as Amble, Craster or even Seahouses for all their matches - so I guess it depends how far you want to travel and how late you want to be getting home!

If you'd like any further info on Whitley or South Beach you can always drop me a PM.

All the clubs mentioned are good options.

Blyth SAC based at The Sea Horse, Blyth holds a winter league, summer league and an away trip. The past winter league had 23 members with 15+ fishing each match. Boundaries stretch upto Seahouses so loads of scope.
More details are on facebook Blyth SAC or please get in touch if want more details.
