  • Looks like someone is netting close inshore next to trow rocks

Hi lads live local to the big beach at south shields and down there almost every day. Tonight for the first time and I can see two white floats which are approx 100 metres off the tip of trow rocks where it is mostly sand don't look like lobster pot dans .... any one know what they could be?

If its a net the way its positioned it will catch anything coming close to the shore from the target and big beach sides of trow

must be the time of the year m8,

it seem's there's a net stretched across the Wansbeck at sandy bay.

the trout heading up to spawn haven't got a chance.

I was there tonight but they were directly in front of the cannon not on the beach sides

I saw a small red fishing boat drop these floats around high tide yesterday as I was fishing Graham Sands but didn't take much notice of exactly what was going on, I didn't see any pots lifted though.
          Cheers.
          Michael.

I think it's the Environment Agency.

To report any incidents contact the relevant IFCA if it is a migratory fish issue the EA will be informed, they are cross warranted in any case

the 1's at sandy bay were actually in the flatty pool, nowhere near the mouth.

so, unless it was some kind of study, which a doubt, when fish are travelling to spawn,

a can't see it being legal.

wonder if this is the same red boat that tried to wipe out all the fishing line and rods on pier today

Read about that m8 what a dickhead never understood why there seems to be this rivalry between the two

Sounds like it could be bass...as usual be careful with catch reports concerning bass
