Alright all,
Is it just me but it was the first time I fished Whitley beach last night and being a novice I fished just along from that pub on the beach (boarderline or summit) anyway was fishing the first two hours of the drop as had a bit bait left over and the pull and breakers were strong enough for me to struggle holding bottom. The weight was 5 oz weight was keep getting dragged along the beach after about 10- 20 mins. If the sea has lifted further will this not be a more acute problem !!! all advice welcome. It looks like a good beach although I was probably in the wrong area anyway!!
Tips (techniques, rigs etc) for Tynemouth pier would also be good as fishing a pegged match on Sunday. Would Mackerel be a good bait to tip as I have read that quite a few whities have been caught.
Oh and why do the Ian gold telescopic tripod plastic parts (that adjust the leg length) always break, can you get metal parts?
Think I will try whithley and blyth beach again soon.
Tight lines
Aky.
