Very windy conditions from the south picked the sea up nicely, resulting in some belter cod catches, none were mine sadly but why break the habit of a lifetime eh! Heard rumours of a 10lber halfway through the comp from blackhall rocks which turned out to be true, Gary Pye had it along with 9lb or so of fish. However it wasnt the heaviest, there was also an 11lber i didnt get the guys name or where it came from but i did hear that it was his first cast and only bite of the day!The fella took 2 grand for that bite! Other good fish up to 8lb and a couple of 5lbers also weighed in, from the winkle beds at easington. The north pier was crap, couldnt stand up in the wind, ended up holding the rod and my gear to stop it blowin all the way back to Shields, only a handful of whiting between 22 anglers.

The 11lber was taken at Crimdon I think or there abouts, Pye was in Priceys at "Gods Country" lol But most of the beaches fished well.
