Century CME - in between a rock rock and beach rod. Loads easily but is still capable of huge distances.

Also AFAW big beach is worth a look.

Hi mate just been in the same situation and ended up getting a greyflex-s for £130 top buy im very impressed with it top allrounder when you get the hang of it.

Exellent at retreiving from snags on rocks.

Just bought a primo synchro. What a nice rod. Took it out for a test drive and put a step into a pendulum. Emptied me 525 no probs second cast. Seems like just the rod I was after, not too stiff and not too floppy. In comparison my longbeach is stiffer.

Might have a plan here. Shift the reel up on the long beach, don't use a reducer and use it as a dedicated rough ground rod Then I'll have a light rod, a match rod, an all rounder and a rock rod. Smashin.

            Cheers mick.

Had a whirl at lunchtime today with it. Anyway, emptied all the 20lb 0.4mm line off me 525 mag with a pendulum and 3 clicks off the max. The reel is filled to within 3mm of the lip. Anyone know how far that will be then?

The synchro will do for me! Cheers for the advice. Lad had a CME who was fishing next to me and tbh i thought it was a floppy stick. He got a bit of weed on and the rod was bent double like a leeda 12 quid special with lots of huffing and puffing etc...

Aye thats a good cast jimbob, i fancy a new rod maybe a carbon metal crest or a Century kompressor SS. Heard great reports about both, they are great all rounders and the new kompressor are ment to be more suited than previous models due to the slimmer diameter butts etc. I had a go of a century kompressor SS and they cast like a dream and are suprisingly light, will handle most fishing situations. Also like zziplex rods so i am torn between a new century or a zziplex for my next rod. Don't need one but fancy a change.
