I've got the day off on Friday so thinking of trying a bit of flattie bashing at claxheugh.

I'll be staying at my girlfriends, not far from AMH angling at annfield plain so will be getting bait from there.

It's my first time fishing claxheugh so would be very grateful if anyone could give me any pointers regarding place to fish, bait, rigs etc.

    Cheers,
    James

Fish last 3 hours of flood.
Fish just to the left of the steps.
2 hook flappers (size 2 hooks ideal)
3oz lead (although theres not a great tide pull i prefer grips)
Best bait fresh peeler, next best frozen runnydown tipped with a sliver of macky.
You should get fish but not nearly as many as a month or two back as a lot of the flounders are out spawning.

        Thanks for your advice Micky.

AHM do sea bait (new owner now so it'll be getting new signage). When I was last in the lad had frozen razor, mussel, bluey, macky, Squid and runny down. I also got some rag and it was some of the best I've had. He caters for coarse, sea and game fishing.
