  • Steetley tonight

Fished the pier 2 up 2 down tonight. My son jack had never fished it,so after parking near the old Brus walked under the tunnel and forgot how far it is to walk when you're 3 clem overweight.
Anyhow Jack got first blood a whitey on a 2 hook flapper with rag and macky, cheers mick.A few more whitey followed then dad got a flounder, just under 2lbs.2 hook flapper with just rag, cheers again mick.
Anyway 9 whitey and a flatty later we called it a day,we kept a whitey and the flatty, rest went back.
Got home and Jack filleted the fish, using Alan Charltons guide to filleting for the flatty, then did the whitey,YUCK.INSIDE ALL SORTS OF GUNK.Photos tomorrow.Anyway, binned it.
Jack loved his baptism on the Steetley, wants to go back.OK.

I,ve had a few with the liver like that. Someone said its the worms and as soon as the fish die they tunnel out via the flesh of the fish.(i don,t know how true this is) If you gut them straight away there should be no problem.
        Mind your fish looks awful.
Glad you had a nice day.
        Mick.
