Its at the end of cemetry road Hartlepool on the headland.(have you a sat nav)
If you drive to the headland its easy to find just look for the big concrete chimney.
Its a disused magnesium factory which used to draw water in from the sea. It was treated and drew out the magnesium. Then the used water went back out. You will see the old pipes either side of the pier.
If you have any probs PM me. The main problem is the parking of your car. There is nothing at the end of the road other than an old jewish community cemetry. I have seen cars get screwed and being a copper i think it is daft to leave your motor there or even on the old waste land where a lot of anglers seem to be parking.
I park my car a not to long way away and walk to the pier. Its safer.

          Mick.

                fishing steetly

i think by previous threads you now know were the jetty is, as we call in h,pool, park your car just before the horseshoe tunnel [you cant miss it]ask anyone. Its a 5 minute walk to the pier ,the jetty is about one third of a mile long.its a wooden structure so even in the heaviest seas its safe ,the swell just rushes under neath you, fish anywere from just before the gates [about half way along] to the end, your in deep water all the time even at low water,. the bottom is sand so no gear loss and on its day when the cod come on its the best venue in the country, the most cod i,ve seen in my life cought, was one night three years ago when there was about 30 lads fishing and every one bagged up with fish up to 12lbs and bigger ones lost . the only disadvantage is the lift its about 30foot ,tight lines.

cemetary road, up as far as you can go, if your going for the first time be aware that some of the boards are damaged, not sure if the plugs still up at the end, if so be carefull around that area, its a long drop, can be a bit exposed, take the right gear with you
