Me rods stuck

Alright everyone. Am after a bit help. My TT sport mk1 is stuck together. Me and my mate couldn't budge it.

Has anyone got any ideas how to get it off.

Run it under a hot tap usually does the trick, difficult part is getting the rod in the kitchen sink or bathroom

put it in a cold place for a couple of hours and it might work mate

Then once apart & dry rub the spigot with pencil lead

its happend to me a few times now leave it out side for a hour

Only rub spigot down in winter, spigots tend to swell in warmer weather so if rubbed down in summer it could rattle in winter or be loose. Get a set of gloves on you can possible part it if twisted with a better grip.

Try gripping it with a pair of rubber gloves or piece of carpet underlay. If it still doesn’t move, tapping the reel seat while pulling apart can vibrate it loose.

If that doesn't work remember that the spigot is a 2 part thing. The inner which fits inside the outer. If the outer is heated then it will expand thus creating some room for manoeuvre..
Don't know how you'll do that though. It needs to be a concentrated heat application.

Maybe a rubber tube of some sort filled with boiling water wrapped around it.

put it in the garden pour hot water down but cap trapping in blank for 3 mins then put really clod water over outside of spigot then get a really large lump lol, to help you part it with a bit of a twist. once done two rods in a day was very cold driving around with window down.

take hold of the rod at the tip eye, get someone to hold rod at but cap end and spin it like skipping rope action works every time.

ever heard of a bottle or a kettle ??

Only the missus is allowed to use the kettle, & the iron,cooker,oven & washing machine

Boil the kettle or hoy some hot water in a jug saves snapping ur rod on the door
