People usually favour Blyth pier at high tide but you can catch any state of the tide, it can get very busy though, usually because it is one of the only places to fish when the sea is really big.

Richy, over the years I have caught decent fish at all states of the tide. That is one of the best or worst thing about Blyth west pier it can start fishing at any time mate. That said it is easier to get them up when it is high tide though.

                Jim.

I have started shift work now for the 1st time in my life so i am now given the chance to fish during the day when i hope it wont be that busy.

As i cant really pic and choose my tides with the silly start and finish times, its a case of feel like fishing before/after work and just going.

Cheers fro advice, i have always fished it upto high water but never caught it on one of its famous days.

Best sesh i had from Blyth in the 7 years i have fished it was 3 codling, 12 whiting, 1 coalie and 1 bass (Nov 2004 from records)

Just always missed the best day by sometimes a few hours
