  • Fixed Spool Rods

Steadily becoming a multi' convert, but do not want to commit the F/S to the bottom of the box...

So...what are the decent f/s rods out there? was thinking along the lines of a 14-15 footer maybe

    any ideas/info greatly appreciated
    Ooh a new vid!

I've got a Shakespeare Team Extreme LDC 18ft FS Rod and it casts for miles with a simple overhead lob. Only FS rod I've got so I can't really compare it against any others, in fact our lass got it for my birthday a few years ago as a surprise, not a rod I would have bought by choice but it has it's uses none the less and the build quality is really good.

One tip I would say is to stick to 125g weights max and small baits with these long rods despite what it might say on the blank as loads of them have been smashed while belting out a heavier lead and a big bait.

You thoughts betray you. Stick to multipliers and don't look over your shoulder. You will thank Uncle Jimbob.

            Hi,
Can't go wrong with a Century Blackbird (BB). Great with multiplier or fixed spool, super beach rod.
            Regards Ian.

                  Tony,
Depending on what shift I'm on I often go casting down the Tyne, you're welcome to come and have a go with my BlackBird to see what you think of it.
It's always nice to try a rod before you splash out with the cash.
                  Regards Ian.
