i'll narrow this down a bit

past week has been very poor along our coastline, with very few fish coming from the popular marks.
there are 1 or 2 better codling from rock marks at whitburn and andy rutherford had cod at 10lbs and 6lbs from seaburn prom.
roker and seaham piers are fishing poor at the min with just the odd codling to 2lb, and there are not mant whiting about. there are some flounders showing in the wear and the odd coalie, but everywhere else seems a waste of time.
worm is the top bait at present with black runnidown and ludworm/razor having the edge.
    club results

ryhope sweepstake had a turnout of 38anglers with most taking fish, the hotspot was whitburn where walter yardley won with one at 5lb, paul riley took 2nd for 3lb and lee dougles was 3rd for 2lb 8oz, all codling.

15 fished s/land saa xmas comp last sunday, rutherford won with 3coalies, 2codling and a dab for 6lb 10z, the heaviest fish was a 1lb 15oz codling by john robinson.

seaham sac juniors fished there xmas comp on sat, harry richardson won with 2 fish for 1.75lb including the heaviest fish, a coalie of 1.31lb, followed by paul king and craig hogwood, 1,12lb and 0.72lb respectively

Surely not Alan, Mick didn't even quote word for word.

Links to articles don't seem to pose a problem.

I'd guess if it was posted word for word with or without credit it may be against some law but if it's already in the public domain then I'd doubt very much if they'd get their knickers in a bunch.

I could be rang of course.

it was meant to be a bit tongue in cheek lads, although i am not sure how it would be looked at, as using anybodies work, you quite often get palgerism cases in the lirerary world, or when someone copies scientific studies and claim them as their own. I am sure saying that the Echo was given credit it would be okay and I am sure Jack wouldnt mind in the slightest. Might have been better to ask first, or just put a link to their site. Even the photos, and the articles I write and post on here are copyright (mine) but I dont mind anybody using them as long as they ask, as they are there for all to see.
One thing that puzzles me is, newpapers are trying to sell more papers, yet they put their newspapers on line, minus photos most of the time, where everybody can see them, to me it seems as if they are doing themselves out of business.

They must have payed a lot of people with pointy heads to work all that bizness out Alan - I'm sure they come out on top otherwise the Writ would hit the fan (If no-one else has said that I just did - copyright NESA, I want halfies)

None of the angling mags as far as I know have any real on-line presence in terms of extended articles etc. which I find is a bit weird. I guess their pointy heads say no

you are quite welcome to halfies charlie, but as long as you pay half the expenses, as i charge nothing (unlike some I know) for photos, articles that appear on web sites you should owe me quite a bit as the work dates back to when NESA started, will send you an invoice.
remember when John Bridges was first building NESA, he approached a certain Sea Angling magazine if he could use some of their photos (very politely) he got a very forthright letter back threatening him with legal action if he used anything from their magazine, all they had to do was politely say sorry you cant.

I don't really think there is a problem with your post Mick, if we did it would have been removed and you would have been informed why mate. That said, always be careful when posting links or info from elsewhere as some people do not like anything written by them being produced without their permission and rightly so.

We often get a lot of grief for removing items on NESA but we don't remove them for no reason. Not only can we be in trouble, but now most of the problems come back onto the people that made the said post in the first place. If someone takes offence then we would be obliged to hand over all information we have on the person if it was to go further.

Always be careful in copying information without permission, if in doubt then don't.

                            Jim.
Remember, some people are alive simply because it is illegal to shoot them.
