Starting to use braid on fixed spool now I have been buying the more expensive braid because of the low diameters any one recommend a cheaper braid whith same diameter as whiplash or power pro?

Not sure if the diameters are similar but have you tried the Chinese stuff off eBay? I think it's called Dyneema pro

Berkley Whiplash 60lb is small diameter but quite expensive. I also use Spectra Chinese braid you can buy on e-bay. Diameter bit bigger but half the price and I have had no problems with it.

I bought my braid from eBay... Chinese stuff... It's been cracking mate... As goo as the stuff I've bought previously from over here. Order some, it's at least half the price. Had no issues using it and had quite a few fish !

just wondering, when you buy the braid from china/hong kong, as well as the price & the p&p, do you have to pay extra duty/import tax/delivery charge? i read you had to pay an extra £8 on top of the stated price. don't know if thats true or just a story put about by uk sellers!

Customs do grab a package from time to time and charge VAT and import duty.
It's hit and miss. The packages I have had so far show the contents as being movie props.
Dunno why they chose that description for braid but customs aren't fools.
This is the warning on the suppliers site:
Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility.
Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying.

I'm also a bit funny about buying from the .com rather than the .co.uk Ebay.

I think if the tax is less than £9 they waver it . I've had several small orders from Japan with no problems
