            m gear

Always remember fishing the blast beach with m father on a fri night, we had 5 or 6 good cod to 8lb but the tilly lamp kept going out.
M dad was gettin quite pished of with this lamp.
I moved away along the beach some 4or 500yds so he could have a good swear to his self.
Then I saw this flaming ball heading seawards, it just looked like a comet but I new what it was.
No lights homeward bound we went.
            Arr them were the days.

eeeee aye the good owld days when the train from n/cle central to n/shields used to take 3 hours and bait was cut out the drums of guts and heads that used to line the fish quay. The best marks were the union quay for crabs and loydds jetty for sprats and poddlers. casting distance was as far as u could swing the weight on ya handline

macdonalds cafe on the quay and the sandpiper cafe (porthole pub now) for refreshments
              Regards, Graham

A mobile phone in one of those little sealable plastic bags if I'm fishing on my own. And a spare head torch.

                      My hints:

+ Bait elastic in a pee sample pot with the hole cut out of the top
+ Half made traces without the hook length so you can see if you want them long or short
and crimp them where you want
+ Small hook for the top pennel - you'll get more hook ups than 2 the same size
+ On a clean beach, fish two or three hook rigs if you can - why limit yourself to just a string of bait e.g. bomber rigs. The white booms can be fantastic for bait presentation and if you fish them, will outsfish longer rigs
+ For rock fishing or cliff marks at very short range fish 50lb straight through
+ Always put loads of shockleader on your reels
                      PB Boat Ling 24lb
                      PB Cod Boat 17lb
                      PB Cod Shore 11lb
                      PB Boat Pollack 9.5lb
                      PB Mackies 1,000,000
