Fished Cresswell and Cambois last week. Not a sniff. Sea should be up on Sunday, leave it 'til then.

The sea was supposed to lift on Sunday but just been checking the forcast and it seems to have disappeared, looks like the next rough spell we'll get will be on Wednesday/Thursday next week (next year!). The sea might lift slightly on Sunday but I don't think it's going to be much and it will just be for a few hours, but then again don't listen to me, forcasting the sea state is a bit like catching cod, it's hit a miss for the experts so I will never get it right!

It's diabolical further North. Earlier in the season, even when the seas were flat we were still getting fish and for the past couple of weeks, there's been next to nowt.
Even the deep water marks up at Howick have been very poor.
Just hoping when the sea does come away, that the past couple of weeks have been a blip and the fish re-appear or it doesn't bode well for the rest of the season.

Cresswell is best on a good S or SE the rougher the better, get tucked in behind the carrs and you can fish no problem, it's quite a flat beach so you're better off if you can cast a bit, big tides are no good though as it empties out and your left with about 2ft of water at low tide. Once the tide turns the fish seem to come round the carrs into the shelter and feed like mad, you've got to be quick though as the water soon forces you back up the beach then you can't reach them anymore. It's been a while since I've fished it mind, could have changed a bit.
