  • hartlepool summer spinning

Is there any thing else that gets caught off hartlepool in the summer months when spinning with jelly worms and different lures ive only ever fished with spinners and caught mackerel and would like to try for maybe pollock or something else this year

you can pick the odd shad up when spinning for macky,or try bouncing your spinner along the bottom [or day lights] you will be surprised at the amount of coalies, flatties and the occasional codling you can pick up the best place for this is the heugh at the end or middleton pier, plenty of bass from crimdon beach or seaton beach as long it is right place right time, as for pollock about as rare in hartlepool as a monkey.

I would agree with Paul, I've also read reports of Gernard and Dragonet being caught around there on lures
Happy to help, Keen to learn!

You get Pollack off South Shields pier where the blocks are seaward side. I had one 6-7lb which I lost as I tried to lift. Small shad snapped off still in fishes mouth. Best side of blocks towards end of pier. ALso coalies.
Personal best, 12.5lb Tope Scotland. 22/05/2012.
