Don't know if anyone picked up on it yesterday but there was a HUGE offer on braid. Dyneema from China. Bidding for free delivery started at 95 pence for 300 metre spools and as there so many spools of all sorts of colours and line strengths I bid on dozens of them. I thought some may just slip through at the initial bid offer and lo and behold I found I'd won 15 spools plus a few lures for the princely sum of less than £20 in total.
Just to finalise this before someone realised his mistake I made payment straight off.
As I suspected this was a mistake by the seller and he now says his sister forgot to add postal costs so would I accept these on top. Am currently negotiating for postal costs for a single bulk parcel. I may well have some braid to offer in due course, anywhere from 10 to 60lb.
Now, I already use braid. What I need to find out though is a suitable knot for tying 2 different strengths of braid together. Typically a 30lb main-line to 70lb leader.
I'm not at all happy with the usual mono type knots for this and the "smallest and strongest knot in the world" relies on the braid main-line actually gripping - sinking into the mono which isn't something that happens with braid to braid.
Ideas guys........
