  • Suggestion!

Don't know whether this has ever been suggested before but would it be possible to have a section of this site dedicated for people to advise others on the sea conditions. In the past I've asked people that live near the coast what the sea state is and I always get willing people replying and even posting pictures that they've taken while out walking the dog etc. I live at Consett so it's not easy for me to predict what the sea state is, I know there are web cams but sometimes these are off or have not updated, if we did have a section especially for this I'm sure there would be more than just me that would benefit from it, I know at least four people from the Consett area alone that would benefit, there must be hundreds would find it useful.

Any pictures are always great but even a comment like, "was on Blyth beach at 13:00 today and there was a great sea running there should be fish about tonight" would do nicely, I know you are relying on people's own opinions about the sea but if it's rough it's rough, trouble is people living away from the coast don't always know that.

Im no expert on websites but I'm pretty sure a section could be set up to have comments submitted and the comments could automatically be deleted once they are - say 24 hours old, I'm pretty sure there are a lot of anglers out there willing to help fellow anglers and I'm pretty sure there would not be a day goes by without someone writing some comments in or even posting pictures.

    What do people think?
    Would you benefit form it?
Would you be willing to submit info into it?

I sometimes do a 50 mile round trip but someone taking 2 minutes of their time could prevent me from having to do that!

It would be excellent if the top of the forum page looked something like this: -

    2007 Tide Tables.

    Shore Catch Reports
Been fishing? Let us know how you got on.

All done Craig I hope that is ok for you mate.

We had this once before but it was never renewed when we changed to the new site. Always a good idea though for anyone that lives inland. We used to get some cracking pictures in there too.

Yes mate me too lol, your more than welcome. I know when it used to be on I was more than grateful to the members for posting their photographs as it helped me to choose a location before I left home.

          Jim the wizard

While your on doing your magical things can you not put a greet big flashing light on the screen when you first log on that tells you you have unread PMs. It'll save everyone having to put a post on saying "Henrietta Postlethwaite check you PMs mate"

If you go into your user control panel you can have a pop up notification of any new PMs its under Edit Options, I think

Maybe it will work after you have shut NESA down fully and then log in again Craig. I must be honest I have never tried it before so not sure.

It doesnt work if you are already looking at your PMs. I will send you one and see if it works now. Might be that your pop up blocker is stopping it so you might have to go into that and set this as a safe site
