  • Anyone tried this

With the price of small chemical lites as little as 4quid for 150 on e.bay.has anyone tried maybe Superglue one on the line just up from the bait? Thinking cod sees light and is guided to the bait bingo or do you think it will have the opposite effect in scaring them away?

I’ve tried them on the boat. Hard to tell whether they make a real difference or not in catching more fish. Caught with and without. They certainly didn’t seem to scare the fish away though. The ones I used came from Lidl’s. In the box along with them were little pieces of clear polythene tube for fixing them on. Think of them like float caps. Feed two onto your line then trap the light top and bottom. This would be a lot easier than gluing. Me mate wanted to try them off the shore for cod, but we only fish shore when the waters dirty, so it was probably a waste of time in these conditions. Only one way to find out though. Try ‘em and see.

good cheap chem lights, i have used them a few times, cant say good or not, i have caught with and without them, one thing though, least yiou can see where your casting too at night lol, even if it does look like someones putting tracer rounds down, mate of mine was a diver on the rigs, he said the fish did seem to be attracted to them when they used them, thouigh the ones they use are far bigger

When I'm whiting bashing I use glow beads and when I fished a knockout comp against an unamed competitor I caught twice as many so I am confident they work.

A few lads have tried the big fellas off the boat and I've seen lads experimenting on Roker Pier (dirty boys) with huge chem lights when nowt else is working. They don't seem to work IMO

SLESS. On the day I wooped his asssss. But he has wooped mine since. I ended up with 44 whiting in 4hrs and the ZIPMEISTER had 20 odd. My baits were getting hit on the drop so I was striking, hooking a fish and letting the other hooks do their work while I was baiting up my second trace. Best nights sport I have had.
