  • Boulmer Area..info needed

Bit of an odd one this...

Was anyone fishing Boulmer beach or the surrounding area ( lets say 2 miles each way)on Sat 1st dec or Sunday 2nd. Or maybe you were the people with the genny and the lights digging that night.

    The time...around 1-2 am.

Something happened out to sea and I would love to get in touch with anyone out that night who may have witnessed anything.

I know its a week ago ...but you never know.

    Cheers

This was regarding a trawler or two seen coming down the bay...very close in and running side by side.

Not that I am suggesting they could have been doing anything illegal of course but I intend to find out.

PM me if recall anything similar or see anything in the future.

        Cheers

Have fished Seaton Point beach a few times in last month or so, always seems to be well lit trawler not far off the point, only noted one though. Earlyish around 10.00pm

Thanks for the replies guys. I will pm each of you a bit more detail as to why I asked this.

I did finally manage to contact the fisheries protection officers today and I will post another thread about my comments on that particular excercise.

If I could ask anyone fishing that area seeing two boats "pleasure cruising" parralel to one another after dark and close to the shore to let me know via PM. Sorry but its the best you can do for now.

We all know they can not be pair trawling as this is banned within 12 miles in the NSFC area ( ie north shields to berwick) so "they would not do it"...but with the st oswald in dock at RQ's how would they know.

Keep your eyes open...note dates and times...dont be afraid of sending too much info. I am particularly intrested in two boats cruising close together(probably after dark and close in).

            Many thanks.

Does this mean they were digging bait with light's powered by a generator!!!!
              At 1am in the morning!!

                Someone was!
"And I looked, and behold'a pale horse; and his name that sat on him was death, and hell followed with hi, and power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword and with hunger, and with the beasts of the earth"
