                      I've only ever seen him fishing once, but I don't think there is a man alive
                      that knows the rocks better than him. He knows every little "nook and cranny"
                      from Marsden to roker pier.

                          one day last year mr chapman appeareed (or sneaked up on is )from knowhere,i turned round to see this big sillohette shape on souter skeer on the top of the grass ,nearly pooped me kegs ,anyway he had a few chucks into the water and guided me to where to fling me bait into a gulley no more than 40 yards 2 mins later i took a nice 6-7lb reddy,

                              Living in Whitburn I know Alan really well. He's offered to take me for a long walk from Whitburn to Marsden to point out all the marks but we haven't done it yet. Looks like I'm going to have to take him up on it. I've only fished with him once and he told me where I was it would start fishing first hour of the flood. Sure enough as soon as it started flooding - fish on. He defo knows his stuff
