Looking at upgrading my 4500s to one of the above rods. love the 4500s but tends to fold up when hauling in to much. does anyone have any experience with either of the above rods? want a rod for fishing and the field but the tip must bend in the tide. Thanks

hi m8
i just bought a HSM
they have a similar tip to the 4500 but the butt is a little softer
its purely a rod for clean beaches and match fishing situations
2-3 yting at a time would be about its limit, clean beach coddin no probs but
the rocks i dont think it would handle

hi shawn, surely you cant go fishing in the field lol, what you are after is summit you cant realy get unless you cast well with soft tipped rods as you know most people these days prefer rods with stiff tips for casting,if you want a rod with tip action for fishing you wont prob like for casting, actualy i think stiff tipped rods pick up bites better at distance, soft tip rods you can set the tip over and walk away from rod and if you get a slack line bite you see the rod straighten, you could actualy buy a soft tipped rod for fishing and design a cast to suite when field casting it all depends how much you want to do one or the other or u could buy two rods.good allrounder in my opion is the 50/50xtr from zziplex tips are not as stiff as the originals
johndid you know panel pins comes in diff sizes ?

hi mackey,ur right about synchros only prob i found is the newer ones are more thro action and softer one of the older ones are perfect using a one myself, bit suprised you say the hsm is for clean beaches only and butt is softer than 4500 if but is softer i would of thought tip would of been stiffer as i do believe the hsm was stiffer than 4500, scott selby told me he has hsm and loves it and hitting some good distances with it.
