Had others at Crimdon beach. Pleasant fishing there except for the walk back to the car up from the dunes.

the best spot in the northeast for a dab is the heugh in hartlepool. we get dabs on there all year round. only small at the minute though. the ends of most of the longer piers casting on to clean ground will give you the best chance of getting one.
stick with size 2 hooks, 15lb hooklengths, a single luminous glowbead above the bait. any worm bait tipped off with a small piece of mackerel will work.
i know some will say they caught them on a 5/0 with 50lb hooklength but stick with the above to increase your chances.
