try to fish over high water not low water ,say 2 hours before 2 hours down, roker pier or similar will be spot on , and these big tides and flat sea should produce the big spawning cod, you dont allways need it rough , to get the bigguns
I agree with cod magnet roker pier , am trying myself theres been cod there for lsst three days mostly during dsylight and most on the end also another thornback caught last night by andy rutherford

Davey it's been throwing fish out all season been very consistent.
Thanks for the replies, I ended up going to roker pier, fished the end from 10am-7pm and only got a couple of flatties, didn't see much else caught all day.
