Think the last time TC (Zziplex) made a 12' rod was the early 2500 about 25 years ago. Even then they were an 8' tip and a 4' butt.

About as certain as I can be that it is a knock off in the hope of parting the unwary from their cash, watch out for it appearing on fleabay next...

I doubt if the shop in ashington has ever had a zeteque in, never mind one of dubious origin and poor build quality.I think endurothumper's probably right and somebody's being a bit of an ESRA!!!!!!!!!

Stewarts right, terry carrol @ zziplex only supplies blanks to the trade for them to build up,looks to me like an old rod done up to look like a zippy, tread with caution me thinks
                  To much cash anyways

I offered him 150 as a tester he said yes..... Don't think anyone would part with a genuine zippy for that
Shame though I had my heart set on it, but now I'm gonna save for a brand new one, there's one in I'd fishing if I can get it cheap I'll pay for it re-done new rings etc

Been to a tackle shop & showed some photos of the "fake" zziplex
He didn't think it was a zziplex but wasn't 100% certain his thoughts were an amorphous whisker Kevlar which he reckoned was a cracking rod & his opinion much better than a zziplex

Thought so much, sounds dodgy with the description.
Treat your self to a new rod,or a s/hand one, plenty of very nice/tidy rods about.
I bought a custom made bullet gt,built by chris dance off me pal,he was short of cash at the time, only paid £250only used a handfull of times, wasn't a mark on it.
So the bargains r out there buddy, regards daiwa awb's or awt's keep with your zzipplex,u won't be dissapointedBest of luck with it all.

I have my heart set on a zziplex anyway just dnt know which model, I've text the lad who's selling & surprisingly havnt had a reply! Iv said without being able to verify the exact identity of this rod which could be anything from a £10 cheap & cheerful to the genuine thing so at the miniute I wouldn't pay more than £50

                                Rod

Hi mate I'm from Newbiggin and the tackle shop you are on about ( CD Tackle) was my uncles. Its shut now he sold up years ago this rod isnt from there.
It looks very much like a mate of mines rod as his Zeteque sticker was on this was and he sold it this year on here. Andrew Sanderson.
I may be wrong but try getting a hold of him on here. I will tell him to check out this post.
If it is his its a genuine rod but I agree with the lads its slightly overpriced at £280.
I would say £250 absolute max
