  • Where to fish when it's as flat as a witches?

Was gonna either do St Mary's or North Beacons at Newbiggin over high water.

I'd appreciate any suggestions that fish in these conditions & would help avoid yet another blank.

Hi wrasse-ta master :-) after walking along Newbiggin Bay last Saturday I planned on fishing the south end for the first time on Sunday evening, however, the sea was flat (although still coloured) so I decided to try the Beacons instead having only fished it once before in the summer for mackerel. I fished from about 7:45-11:45pm (LW was about 10:40pm) and I caught a nice cod of about 4-4.5lb on my last cast of the night. Bluey and squid strip were the successful baits used. Lynemouth beach is also worth a try as there's always colour in the water due to the coal deposits along the beach. Hope this helps. Tight lines!

Sounds more like it, I've completely lost the motivation to go if I'm honest.

Would have been nice if it had been right but it's time to dig out the tiny hooks I think
