I've had this happen a lot only way I've found is I use an old bit of butt section off mk1 Apollo and tape some sandpaper on it the put the reeseat over and twist sanding the reel seat slightly larger.

Your better off fixing the reel seat to the rod blank, then it won,t move like it can on top of shrink wrap.Butt the shrink wrap up to each end of the fitting then seal with epoxy or High build.
Use hot glue then its easy to get back off.If the reel seat is too big use masking tape to build up the blank as this doesn,t slip like Sparkies tape.

Th reason is because the newer shrink tube is slightly thicker than the original also you can give it a bit longer under the heat gun...carefully tho lol

The secret to applying shrinktube is to slightly stretch it as yo heat it up
