  • Seaham North Pier

I've been a member of Seaham angling club for a while now, but haven't got round to using my pass key for the pier yet. However I intend to fish it sometime this week on a flood tide. Can anyone tell me what sort of ground I will be fishing onto casting seawards along it's length, and am I likely to hit any snags casting here. Also if I fish from the round end what is the best direction to cast, and is it snaggy ?

    Much thanks........BAZACODBASHA

hi mate, depends where u fish as you have probably guessed, anywhere on the drum end is very snaggy. There is some sandy parts around the 50 mark on the pier.
I like to fish the number 5 mark casting straight out no more than 50 yards, seems pretty clear ground for me, i never lose anything and always manage to get something.
24-35 is quite rough, but definatly holds fish, i was pegged on no 11 yesterday in the comp , and people were pulling the odd codling ,coalies and whities in from around the 24-35 mark during the daylight hours.
    Hope this helps.

Thanks to both of you for the good info. I will try to keep it all in mind when I visit the pier, and if I get 'out I'll post it on NESA.
Once again thanks for taking the time to reply
