West Coast Scotland {Port Patrick}

Thinking about going there for saturday and the sunday for pollock and doggies with friends as long as forcast is ok.
Was wondering if its still worth going this time of year,or do the fish move off from the shore.
With the temp getting cooler and as summer is gone.
Any info about this time of year would be real good to hear thanks.

Went mid September last year and had some good weather and decent sport. I've heard it can fish well for bigger fish in October if it's been settled, often talked about going this time of year but never got round to it. Worth a try.

It would probably be worth the trip. Last year I fished it around the second week in november and although it was cold the water was warm and we were still catching mackrel and tope from the boat. We also caught doggies, gurnard and wrasse.

This is an area where the gulfstream first hits our coast and the water is unbelievably warm as winter sets in. The gardens around that area have palm trees etc growing and when we drove there last year the temp gauge in the car read -5 deg up to Gate House of Fleet. When we got to Drummore it read +10 deg.

Normal winter conditions just do not apply to this area because of the effect the gulfstream has. I would have thought the shore fishing would be about the same although the polack will have moved away.

Sorry I am not a shore angler but if you saw the distances off the cliffs we fish over there we might as well be on the shore. Hope this helps.
