Why do century and some rod builders use that horrible, thick, white reflective tape ? Does anyone else have an aversion to it or is it just me? I' ve just sat and picked the stuff off me sst to put mighty bright on which is what I think manufacturers should use. Anyway rant over lol.

Yep, it's horrible stuff alright - a bit of a faff-on getting it off from what I hear too! Glad none of my rods have the stuff on…

Depends on what reflective tape you get but your quite right it is slightly thicker as they just more or less slap it on but if put on properly its ok just 1 rap not overlapped which maje it look thick

It's horses for courses as I like the stuff the likes of century and uk hooks use and as Stan said depending on the make and put on right in one layer there's not much difference in thickness than the mb stuff IMHO.the stuff I really don't like is the hexagon patterned stuff.

I've had number plate tape on some of my rods for decades with no problems! Great stuff! Got some MB stuff for my Nemesis and I don't like it!
Probably the colour, (green), as I couldn't get any white at the time!
