We call them piers up here and they are made of bread as we are not scared of nowt

You will get some great info here some lads know it very well. It's a hell of a shot at night after (during ) a big sea but is out of bounds - i.e. big gate to climb over.

Bait would be the usual IMO If you can get it - fresh peeler and big wiggly white snakes plus fresh lug and rag, mussel, razor, mackerel (or blueys) and squid.

You should expect codling and whities with the chance of flatfish. You can expect the odd good fish.

A lot of comps are won by people scratching for whiteys which is a very popular and never criticised method

The ground varies, I couldn't tell you which bit is what but some shots a rotten bottom might be an idea.

Ask your mate to see if he can spot my mate Geordies knacker hanging off one of the spikes on the gate? The gulls have probably had it away by now though.

Plenty good tackle shops for bait if he's not bringing it up, but book early and maybe explain his circumstances to garantee. Can't go wrong with Billy's or Frasers which are very near or any of the other lads listed in the tackle dealers bit.
