  • Braid from shore?

Alright lads quick query for yas, although continental style fishing says you can use braid from the shore which is on f.s.reels is it ok to use braid from a multi on a rod like an ss for pier fishing etc got 50lb on my okuma mag, with only a 515 as my other reel dont think it will hold enough 20lb b.s. what do yous think? Cheers

Loads of lads using braid now mate Its not much different apart from being a smaller diameter also been told it makes for Better bite detection as there is no stretch even better distance as there's less resistance

Most popular colour is green well at least that's what I have been told

    Hope this helps

if u want to use braid on a multi thats fine . loads of folks manage fine to cast it etc. a birdie can be a nightmare if u get one tho, with regards to using an ss from the shore i guess should be ok. just sit on ur hands when u see ur rod tip bouncing (if it does) . u must consider - braid +no stretch , komp ss stiffer than continental rods. poss wont make a difference dragging whitey to the beach on clean ground but on rough ground pulling for a break may be tricky. if using from pier lifting fish on braid is also tricky as theres nothing to cushion the fish shaking its head etc. Why do u wanna use braid on multi with a komp ss? i pair my komp with a 525 with 18lb mono. i have a softer shakespeare rod whcih i find suits the braid on a fs better its a lot of fun targetting summer fish with them , i also have 15lb braid on small multi for lure fishing but i have a long leader for when fishing up piers etc.
good luck anyway . im sure someone more experienced will give u more info

put a shockleader on and you should be fine, the leader will take the strain and give a little with a decent fish on shaking its head. but birdies and pulling out of snags as already mentioned can be a bit of a nightmare
