Alan Stead.
Alan Stead was the name I was given and that was the name I gave to the Chronicle. Alan Charltion writes in the Sunday Sun and Journal. I write in the Chronicle and have done for many years. I'm not a shiney arsed whatever it was you called me. I have fished since the age of 6 I'm now 81 and still fishing. I've fished all over the world apart from the far east, I've caught everything from sharks to minnows. I caught a 75 lbs. sailfish in Kenya on a salmon fly rod using a 20 lbs. b.s. tippet , if I had taken it ashore it would have been a new Kenya record I refused to let them and the fish was put back alive.
Instead of having a go at me because of one little mistake why don't you get onto the sports editor of the Chronicle and ask for a fair share of the angling page instead of three quarters taken up by trout angling. After all there are more sea anglers in the North East than game. That fact came from a survey that was carried out by a National angling magazine a few years ago.

I dont think that Mick meant his post to be offensive either Sam, the way I read it, I took it to be a bit 'tongue in cheek', anyway, keep up the good work Sam as press coverage of sea angling is rare to begin with, I used to love to listen to 'Howes Fishing' for the sea angling piece at the end but we havent even got that now !!!!
Cheers.

Sorry
Sorry for my rant gentlemen. I've had one those weeks this week apologies again.
My column goes on to the Total Sea Fishing magazine web site now, so any clubs wanting coverage for opens, club meetings, big fish etc. please get in touch. My e-mail address is samharris01@aol.com
Any clubs wanting to put on an angling video show to atract new members or just a show for their own members, I have about a hundred D.V.D.s both sea and freshwater I'd be happy to bring along to their club meetings.
I have my own D.V.D. projector and screen and I don't make any charge for this.
If anyone wants more information for their club please give me a ring on 0191 5184561.
